Direct-To-Consumers (DTC) Advertisements: Submission of a letter to the government of New Zealand

Direct-To-Consumers (DTC) advertisements on medicine, which require prescriptions, are not allowed in most countries including Japan. Exceptions are the US and New Zealand, where harmful effects of DTC advertisements is also pointed out.
In April 2006,we sent a public comment to the government of New Zealand, supporting the need to regulate such ads.
