Fluoride Mouth Rinsing Program
The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare started to recommend the school-based fluoride mouth-rinsing. Long use of relatively high-concentrated fluoride could cause acute and chronic toxicity. According to a recent review, the effectiveness of fluoride mouth-rinsing in order to prevent dental caries has not been proved.
Therefore, we sent an opinion paper about this to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare in August 2003.
