Panaldine (ticlopidine hydrochloride)
It was known nationally and internationally whether Panaldine (ticlopidine hydrochloride) would cause serious side effects such as TTP.
In 2000 and 2001, we issued written requests to the MHLW as follows:
(i) conduct a survey
(ii) release the results concerning side effects
(iii) apply strict restrictions on use; and (iv) draft patients' information leaflets. However, no drastic measures have been taken so far.
